Winter Walk

Perfect day for a walk on the lake...

Macy dressed for the weather, Baily with his ever present snow beard.

Off we go, strong winds yesterday so the snowmobile tracks/trails were all drifted over.

Coming for a treat!

Going for a treat!

The homes of the North Artishon Loop.

The winter beach.

Putting Baily's "run free" collar back on at the end of the walk.

Half way through our firewood

A well earned nap...with all his toys lined up for afterward.

Snowmobile Races

This weekend there were snowmobile races at the Lake of the Torches.  The races were against the clock with about 8-10 sleds on the large course at a time.  The start/finish line was in front of the casino, and the course ran the length of Pokegama to the islands on our end of the lake.

Most of the racers appeared to belong to sponsored teams.  Next week is the professional snowmobile championship in Eagle River.  A top racer can earn about $20-30,000 a season.   This was a tune up event.

Racers started in pairs spaced about 30 seconds apart.

The view of the course from the casino.  Not the greatest spectator sport but fun to experience.

New Year's with Karyl and Doug

44 years and still counting...

Trying to hang on until midnight.  Laura is losing the battle.

Macy brought gifts!

Sofa space was at a premium.

First shot with my new Fuji X30

Christmas Eve

Baily got a puzzle for Christmas.  If you move the pegs around correctly you're rewarded with a treat!

No problemo!

Baily even has a stocking, and the dog cookie peaking out the top did not go unnoticed.

Enjoying a warm fire

Until next year!
