Moving Daze

We're officially moved, except for an air mattress, an old TV and a few work clothes, everything we own is now officially Up North.  Mr. Mover loaded us up on Thursday, and then they drove up and stayed in Minocqua.  First thing Friday morning they began to unload.  It's a bit overwhelming at the moment as we unpack and try to merge the contents of two households.  Scott was here to help and we stayed busy.

First off is Mr. Mover at the Germantown condo we rented for 8 months.  When they were done loading we were at max for the one truck.  Fortunately they knew what they were doing.

While 4 guys did the packing, only 2 traveled Up North and did the unload.  Regardless the move in went very fast. They were able to pull right up to the door so it really sped things up and kept the sand at bay.  Nonetheless we have boxes everywhere, most with labels that made lots of sense 8 months ago but little sense now.

At the end of day Macy had organized some sanity into the chaos and we were able to relax.  The view remains the same.  Blink Bonnie's and some sizzling steaks awaited.

EZ Breeze

On the porch we've installed the EZ Breeze storm/screen system.  It allows a lot of flexibility.  The panels can be lifted all up or all down, or removed all together.  In the summer it allows us to block the wind so we can still play cards.  Hopefully theory will live up to reality.  The first two shots are from before the other units were placed.  The last is from our bedroom looking out.

Fall Colors - Doug's Photos

The Fall colors were at their peak, and Doug got some great shots.  These are just a few of the many outstanding shots.  Remember you can click on any photo to enlarge...you'll want to do that on these shots.

We went on several sunset cruises...the colors were even more stunning.

We took a day trip up to Bayfield and Copper Falls.  Bayfield is on Lake Superior with a great harbor and constant ferries out to the Apostle Islands National Seashore.  The warm days we had all week allowed us to have an outdoor lunch.

The Move Begins

After a fun weekend with Beckett, the Shaws, and the Badgers/Huskers we headed Up North.  Karyl and Doug helped us move the cottage furniture and such back into the cottage.  Doug got to see/lift it all a second time.  Slowly a home reappears.

The bedrooms start to look like a place to sleep.

We had our first fire and there was a place to sit and enjoy it.

The near garage is almost ready for vehicles.

And at the end of the day we could relax.
