Mission Accomplished

It was a lot of work but by noon on Friday the work was done.  Almost everything was sold and we're ready for the next phase.  Here's a few photos from the second half of the week.

Here's the garage on Wednesday.  It was full by Friday, although a lot of space is being taken up by things headed for Goodwill or still available for sale (anyone need a sofa or a stove?)

We stacked the pavers and deck pieces near the septic field.  Again this was Wednesday when we were about half done.

Here's a shot from Friday just before we left.

Couldn't have done it without all the help and hard labor Doug provided.  The week was fun but lots of work.  It's impossible to put into words the friendship and bonds that Karyl, Doug, Macy and I share.  Doug and I first met in 1966 so we're at 45 years.  Karyl joined the mix in 1970 and Macy in 1973.

Thanks, Doug!

Git Er Done!

Monday's task was to begin taking down the deck.  We hope to reuse the synthetic lumber for future projects.  Pretty much just plan grunt work, no power tools, just a sledge hammer, some crow bars, and lots of clock watching hoping for 5 PM to arrive.

Notice Doug's scarf, quite the rage this year with the tear down set.

New Wheels

We picked up the new camping trailer on Saturday.  It's our home Up North for this season, then it will be taken on the road.  I'll try and take some interior shots soon.  Ignore the white stuff on the ground, I used Photoshop to improve the contrast.

Change of Seasons

One of the things we are really looking forward to when we're living up north is enjoying the transitions from one season to the next.  We've had glimpses, here's a spring time shot from a few years ago.  Shot with a short lens, click to enlarge.

Doug arrives tomorrow and then we're headed up to get ready for the new construction.

Move

The last month has been a trip.  Finalizing the sale, packing, storing some items, moving to the apartment, taking stuff Up North, finalizing the plans for the new home, and did I mention packing.

The storage place is somewhat intimidating, sort of Raiders of the Lost Ark, I know our stuff is back there somewhere.

Here's our last load, headed for Up North

Starting Out

Time to start a blog.  The house on Blue Goose is sold, we're living in an apartment, and are about to begin the building of a new home Up North.  The hope is that this blog will explore some of the past fun and history at the cottage, document the transition to our new home, and share some of the things going on in our lives.  The hope is to post often...time will tell.
